Who are Gallagher Bassett?

Gallagher Bassett acts as a Third Party Administrator (TPA), providing an integrated Claims Management Service to self-insured clients, and providing an outsourced claims management service to direct client, insurers, brokers and MGAs.

We have been appointed to administer the claims management function of the RPA.

In the United Kingdom, our 10 offices and 400 staff provide dedicated service teams to over 120 clients, including local government retail, transport, manufacturing, engineering, leisure, utility, household, commercial and central government organisations.

As an accredited organisation we ensure all our employees have clear training paths and goals, which enhance the quality of our service through both technical knowledge and staff investment.

You may be contacted directly by our partners during the claim process, we have selected this panel based on expertise and experience relevant to the education sector.

First Party & Third Party Claims

First Party claims are ones that you make on your own behalf for example property or money loss. Third party claims are claims made against you by others for compensation because they believe that you have injured them or caused them loss or damage. The Employer’s Liability and Liability to Third Parties sections of the RPA Membership Rules are examples of this.

Gallagher Bassett will handle all claims types under the RPA.

Should I act promptly if I receive a claim from another party?

Yes.

For third party claims there are often financial implications if claims are not dealt with in certain timeframes and we endeavour to manage those costs on behalf of all RPA members. Prompt notification of the claim enables us to manage investigation and claim validation more effectively as well as securing evidence that is vital for us to make the best decisions.
